German Heavy Metal circa 1984, brought to you by the Doro Pesch-helmed Warlock debut.

Doro, 1984. This is why I miss the 80's.

    2010 mit Lemmy.

Jumped into Dash Rip Rock, for a bit, which somehow brought me to the Good Reverend:

(I assure you, he's larger than life)

I see Joe Ely in our future...

I've seen Dallas from a DC-9. So, instead, I've chosen Twang Twang Shock A Boom for my next entry:

              Up next, Alejandro Escovedo.

Super nice guy, sat next to him on a flight, once. Once. Nearly 30 years ago. The live version of this song, back then, was way better than this studio track. Also, fuck, I'm old.

                  Yep. Here's another favorite:

An excellent piece from the 1998 smash "The Mask of Zorro", from the late, great composer James Horner.

Wolfen, The Wrath of Khan, Krull, Aliens , Apollo 13, Braveheart, Field of Dreams, Glory, Titanic.

Then, this masterpiece in the classic Spanish orchestral tradition. In it, you can almost hear the birth cry of the entire Avatar score.

Interesting Easter egg about the Avatar theme song ("I See You")...it's based on a transcription of the Titanic theme song ("My Heart Will Go On") from a bright, hopeful E major key to a darker, more spiritual B flat minor key.

Joni Mitchell's 1969 ode to the return to Eden, just a few weeks after the event.

Crosy, Stills, Nash, and Young did their classic rock version, which is pretty awesome..

..But nothing like Eddie Vedder's answering cry. He'll go with his hands bound, face blooded, under a shadow flag, into a garden of stone.

When the last light warms the rocks
                              And the rattlesnakes unfold
Mountain cats will come to drag away your bones

                              And rise with me forever
                              Across the silent sand
And the stars will be your eyes
And the wind will be my hands

Here's a mash up of the song and Salma Hayek, in From Dusk Til Dawn.

I'm at Rochester MN Mayo Clinic getting cancer treatment (Hilo 2/3rds get feeding tube, here less than one out of five, and none in the proton beam study got in. But the best cd I could find (a lot of kiss your cancer with God and good vibes and we love you, you disgusting stinking old fart type cds) was an old Moody Blues and I kinda like them in 1970... sucked. There's an oldies channel in the radiation room, 1/2 rock, 1/2 pop crap. So when I'm lucky it's Otis and Little Richard, then Sugar Sugar... bleah
