1977 Eddie and the Hot Rods. BBC Top of the Pops. This is a great performance with good sound. The 'live' version from that era is Terrific but doesn't sound as good as this studio version. Good stuff.

The Rolling Stones at Knebworth in 1977. The poster has the date wrong. I was there and the bastards turned up after Midnight - about 4 hours late. I tried to sleep (so did most).

      Anyway, Not Safe For Work.

Deep Purple in Noo Yawk in 1973. A slew of songs. Minor point, the Smoke On The Water riff was asserted by Blackmore to be a thumb exercise. Well, in this he does indeed demonstrate 'live'.

Blackmore is a modern master. I dredged up an interchangeable Rainbow / Deep Purple incarnation with an interesting fast tempo Since You Been Gone.

His latest group, Blackmore's Night is an interesting Minstrel / Renaissance thing. It is quite a departure from the 70's and 80's

The ultra heavy beat fuels me.

I met Ritchie Blackmore a few times. He lives here on Long Island and he and Blackmore's Night frequented the restaurant that I worked in. Helluva nice guy who gave me the opportunity to play with him, but I never took him up on the offer. I are teh suck at play guitar. Blackmore's Night is awesome music if you like the LARPy Renn Faire music. And the singer is just hot as hell too.

WOW! What an opportunity. Even though I probably suck worse than you, I would have loved to jam with him. That would be like sparring with Bill Wallace LOL.

I certainly prefer his Metal to the Renaissance, but I am like Jeet Kune Do with my music. His wife is definitely easy on the eye.

Was inspired to look up some early 90's hits by the soundtrack at training last night. Stumpled across this gem and couldn't help but post it here. Thank goodness social media wasn't invented when I was growing up.
