You want to know what's different between the people who wrote and performed this song and the people who usually occupy top 40 billboards? These people actually had talent.

It's just a song on a 50 year old kid's movie but the way they blend so many big band instruments together to make this is the kind of music requires talent that cannot be taught or faked in a studio.

The musical genius it takes to compose a song like this compared to the formulaic garbage on today's airwaves is like the difference between Einstein and a bunch of not-talent hacks who all copied the same high school freshman's English homework.

Edit: I'm so disappointed by today's music. So much of it is lazy and uninspired crap. Bring back brass horns, clarinets and upright bass.

I know this is essentially experimental music and the guys that make it are probably highly technically skilled and academically educated musicians.

On the other hand, this sounds like someone made a wind chime by magnifying 10000 people running their nails across 10000 chalk boards.

Makes my fillings hurt. I know artists have gotta suffer for their art but I don't want to suffer with these guys unnecessarily. That gave me the beginnings of a migraine headache that I suspect may turn into some mutant breed of brain cancer. I can feel it, right now, moving across the surface of my neural tissues trying to find a place where it can penetrate the protective barrier that stands between all of us and the giant fucking stroke that this weaponized sonic war crime would like to inflict on every decent man, woman and child. The people that created this should be tried at the Hague and if found guilty, they should have their stringed instruments hanged and burned until nothing but ashes remain. Their fingers and creative spaces should be permanently marked as rogue WMD manufacturing facilities and cordoned off by NATO powers with heavily armed sniper towers at equal intervals dispersed along a 100 yard kill box in all directions lest some diabolical fool seek to unleash this unholy scourge on mankind again.
