Dave Carter died one day after a jog. He came back to live for a moment and then died again.

Tracy Grammer, the women to his left, caught his last words: "'I just died... Baby, I just died."

My counterterror muse is back with a new album. It's hard to imagine how difficult it must be for anyone to keep making music after what happened, but as every Arianator knows, she's more than just a singer.

Damn the water if its life, you want to drink
Mind your mother if it makes you feel at ease
As you're raped by another monkey circus freak
'Cause its the big lies are more likely to be believed, believed

I needed a Depeche Mode fix... somehow that turned into The Replacements, which inexplicably led to Joe Ely:

              Depeche Modality.

To the center of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you,
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you,
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you,
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth.

In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more,
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor,
And with cold steel, odor on their bodies made a move to connect,
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left.

I did everything, everything I wanted to,
I let them use you for their own ends,
To the center of the city in the night, waiting for you.
To the center of the city in the night, waiting for you.

I halfway know how it happened. Airplane stuff. Went from "Waitress in the Sky," to "(Did You Ever See) Dallas (from a DC9 at Night)."

This is the music of a so-called "Black McCain".

                    Figure it out yourselves.

Good find. Flesh out the "black McCain" angle please.

I gotta be honest, my son dragged me to this concert at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel NJ Saturday night. I was not that excited.

I was not a fan of this band's studio albums. But seeing a band this talented live is sometimes a lot more important than listening to a fucking record.

It was like Thanos donned a Punisher shirt and rocked the Garden State. A real father-son moment was made.

Oh, and dumpster diving there produces results...lawn standing room only to sweet gallery seats was that easy.

We used to be number ten
                              Now we're permanent one
