We have all seen people making up martial arts styles just so they can appoint themselves with big titles and ranks.
I'm appalled they are now creating bogus military groups and wearing all sorts of medals and ranks. Was just visiting this facebook profile titled Special Forces training. http://www.facebook.com/arlene.sproule#!/album.php?id=754099121&aid=126475
theses martial artist have military dress uniforms, combats workdress and tactical outfits. They have all the ranks, badges and medals. You would swear they represent a real military.
I personally find this a sin and a huge insult on all the military veterans and soldiers who have sacrificed so much for real freedom. Nothing against relief programs, but dressing up as decorated soldiers to get respect and recognition is pushing it past my tolerance.

We really need a "guide to forum posting" for people who aren't as versed in the weird cultural norms the rest of us take for granted.

Like, for example, overly short paragraphs, as short as a single sentence, to break up walls of text and separate ideas onto their own space.

Checked out the links, and can't tell for sure if they're completely faking being military, or if they're using actually military service to promote their training program. Also, is this in the US?

I ask because, in the US, I believe it's a felony to impersonate military personnel.

I think these guys are just MILSIM/Airsoft type guys out there just having fun. I don't think they're American, most of the guys seem to have Germanic names and although they have some of the old US woodlands some of them are wearing Euro style splinter camo. Even if these were Americans, none of this would be a violation of the Stolen Valor act as they are not wearing uniforms they are not entitled to as these are just old ass surplus uniforms from the looks of things and they are not wearing US decorations.

The Salvation Army wears uniforms and decorations, for instance, but I doubt anyone would haul them up because some people could mistake them for military.

I used to crush hard on this one LDS girl, but her parents wouldn't let her date me because I'm Eastern Orthodox. Probably wouldn't have worked anyway considering that I disagree with virtually everything LDS believes theologically.

There's also some Calvinist Cadet group or something. They're predestination believing cub scouts essentially. I need to find more of these military impersonators on the internet to bring to justice.
