1/ Joins the palms in greeting, make an effort to push with the nose inspiration.
2/ With the mouth expiration, two wrists paste tighten ,other fingers to separate at the same time and two forearms to paste tight and curve the back.
3/ Stop breathing, both hands push downward.
4/ Repeat 1-2-3 for 5 times.
5/ Practice 5 times in the morning and evening.

Effect:
Enhancement skill to wrists,arms and the back muscles strength and have a good effect on rheumatalgia.

1/ 合掌,用鼻子吸氣同時用力推.
2/ 用口呼氣,兩手腕貼緊其它手指分開同時兩前臂貼緊及彎背
3/ 閉氣,雙手下墬
4/ 重覆1-2-3 .共5次
5/ 早晚各5次.


功效:
加強手腕,前後臂及背肌力量,對治療風濕痛有良好效果.

2/ With the mouth expiration, close the palms with the legs and use the shoulder muscles to suppress.
3/ Repeat 1-2 for 5 times.
4/ Practice 5 times in the morning and evening.

Effect:
Enhancement of shoulder and chest muscles and have a good effect on hypertension .

Laptop thank you for this posting. I tried this exercise and feel it was very beneficial. I have herniated disk and cannot do some forms of exercise but this was not painful and actually back felt better afterwards. Only problem is my computer is too slow and will not play video, so I can only follow written instructions so maybe I am not doing it right. Any even if I am not it felt good so is okay. Do you know the man in the video? He looks to be old but good shape. Also is hung gar for health like tai chi or is it mainly martial art for fighting.

Iron wire ( thread) technique is one of the many isometric drills ,and exercises utilized in Hung Gar, Gee Fook Kuen form is also another one, though it's suppose to have, more combative applications than the one previous mentioned.
This guy goes by the name Super Cantonese man and has been doing Hung Gar for over forty years and he is in impressive shape. But most divisions of chinese martial arts have a hard or Iron shirt form to, develop strength but then again it does depend on the style and wether or not the practitoner goes that route within the style it self.

Thanks for info Gouken. I will try to find DVD or book about this. Despite there being a lot of Chinese here there are very few schools for Chinese martial arts.
