Hey folks, new member here from Oregon. My name is Chris, I'm currently living in Eugene finishing up some school before I move to Portland to pursue grad school.
I've always had a keen interest in MA, but never got around to joining a gym. I've got another year left here in Eugene, so I'm going to research and find out what the best gym is here, so far from what I've read NWMA sounds like a pretty good place to train so I'll be giving them a look in the next few days.

The Blythe story you guys had drew me to the forum and I looked over the threads, looks like a pretty awesome website with tons of info, so I should be set for awhile just reading up on stuff.

Thanks

Bonjour Lesamourai,

That Blythe story has brought many this way. There are other MABS stories that will make you laugh more as this is a bit serious.

Welcome to bullshido! There are a few here in grad school, so you're in good company. Best of luck finding a place to train.

See you on the threads.

If I lived in Portland, Oregon, there is only one place I'd want to train: SBG HQ (http://www.straightblastgym.com/where.htm). As you've also got Roy Dean over in Bend (http://www.roydeanacademy.com/), that makes Oregon a very tempting place for me to visit some time for a training hoilday: my two favourite instructors.

SBG is fantastic & the fact that I train at the Portland gym 3-6 times a week should in no way be taken as a sign of any undue bias on my part.

Slideyfoot, since you're in the UK, a nearer (& therefore easier) holiday might be to SBG UK (which I believe is in Manchester). Karl Tanswell is an awsome coach.

Agreed. Judging from his Blue Belt curriculum DVD and his writings, I hope to someday head down there and train at his school.

Heh - Oregon is a considerably more appealing holiday destination than Manchester. Although having said that, there is a club I want to visit in Stockport.
