Hello,

Im writing for the first time here, so let me introduce myself. I'm a big fan of martial arts, thou my experience is limited to some months practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and watching Cage Rage. I trained in Brazil at the Calasans Camargo academy http://www.calasanscamargo.com.br

I have found BJJ to be quite effective for dealing with bigger opponents, although I feel that in the streets you have to be prepared for dirty moves, not allowed in the sport.

I had to interrupt my training due to a neck injury and latter on I moved to Switzerland. I am now interested in Self-defense techniques. Just recently I discovered the WWII Close combat in the website
http://www.carlcestari.com/index.html

Also another one I found is the
http://www.toddgroup.com/

I would be very thankful if anyone could tell me their experiences with those techniques and their effectiveness, if their DVDs are worth buying and how they compare to Krav-maga.

Regards to all!

there will be a throw down in Belgium on october 3rd.
if you are interested in coming to, please have a look at the ' throwdowns' section and look for the ' european/belgian mega throw down' thread.

a throw down (TD) is a get together for people of all styles and levels.
you can spar, exchange techniques etc.
it's free to attend, but you have to make your own travel and hotel arrangements ofcourse!
