Hardening techniques...
I want to know as many as I can get.

I've kinda reached a slow point with how I harden my body.
I've done knuckle push ups for years, I kick the legs of my kitchen table all the time and other random stuff like that..
Just today I filled my old 2 foot heavy bag with pool salt... Needles to say, it's a fucking heavy bag now! :|

But anyway, what I'm looking for is ways to strengthen them beyond that.
I mean, I know it's a slow process but I'd like to know if it works like weight training.. I mean, if it starts getting easy, you increase the weight but bones are a very different substance than muscle...
And I don't want to **** my self up, permanently, so...
Yeah, any info on the subject would be nice..

****.
I just realised this may be in the wrong forum... :|

How old are you?
If you want to do the hardcore iron hand style stuff ask Dale Dugas. (he is a regular poster here)

I'd say us the method pro fighters use as a tried and true way to condition your legs so kicking doesn't bother them....

I'm.. 21 in 2 months.
And a teacher would be great.. Like a threesome would be great.
No idea where to find either. :|

My legs are more than fine on the heavy bag.
I've just been feeling like a teething kid with my arms and legs, lately.
I just love hitting hard things... lol.. I duno, I'm strange.

But yeah, thanks for the suggestions.

if you have to strike something then make a makiwara board and plant it in your back yard. it has the benefit of hurting like hell and making nice dull sounds when you hit it. *may or may not cause future hand and joint problems

There is nothing wrong with using progressive levels of conditioning in any serious martial program.

If you want to hit with your hands, then you should seek out instruction.

I will teach you if you come visit me in Boston.

Yep. get your behind up here for some cool old school training.

I will teach you iron palm and other methods of conditioning your body.

You do not have to hurt yourself and it will not take 10 years.

You really need to use a good liniment when you hit things.

It helps to bring blood and move out dead blood. In other words helps to better the circulation in the area. Also if you have some pain from a little overzealous training you can heal it.

Kicking the heavy bag is very good, but you also can tap your shins with a rattan stick as well as use a rolling pin to help thicken the shin.

Let me know if you are interested.

haha this reminds me of some guy at a party I went to that asked me "Can you, like, kick the corner of a wall or something? My friend does muaythai and says she can kick the corner of a wall."

I live to learn, I'd love to get my ass to Boston but.. It's a bit of a trek, living in Australia... lol..

And yeah, I've been using the rolling pin on my shins for a while now and recently started using my mums karate sticks, as well.

A good liniment.. ?
