Does anyone in Northern California know of any good wrestling clubs/schools, particularly ones that teach Greco-Roman wrestling? Know of any coaches that are around the general area of Sacramento? I've got a few guys that are interested and we can pay.

Damn this is looking more and more like a Craigslist ad.

Yes. I know. Google. I did. I found three wrestling clubs and only two are what I would consider 'close' (El Doardo Hills Wrestling Club and the Louis Pasteur Wrestling Club - and I can't find any info on them).

Help?

Thaaaaaaaank you.

Any other people that know of clubs that aren't listed or coaches/groups that aren't really doing anything/don't have an official meeting place, feel free to post please.

the listings, on the page i sent you are: the most competitive groups/clubs in california who actively compete / train.

i wrestled with USA wrestling for 15 years. If its competition you want, its the way to go. there are TONS of super competitive teams. I was training with off season olympic and NCAA wrestlers from when i was 10 to 20. I cant think of any school/gym that has a wrestling team could be more competitive then a proficient USA wrestling club.

what is your wrestling experiance?

Find Slava Sherman in the Bay Area, if he's still there. He had a team called Bear and it was listed on the SCVWA wrestling team stuff

No real wrestling experience beyond training with some high school wrestlers. That's why I'm lookin' to learn.

Slava Sherman - I'll look him up.

Found Jody Perry - he's about sixty miles away but apparently makes regular trips to Roseville, which I'm pretty close to. I'm going to shoot him an email and see if he'd like to do some semi-privates with some training partners and I.

Serge, you're the man.

Is there any place with a good description of what most wrestling clubs are like (if there's any kind of similarities from one to another at all)?

I missed out on wrestling in high school, and have been considering joining one.

I sent Jody Perry an email and he responded today. After speaking with him on the phone I'll be training with him once a week (and eventually 2-3 times a week) in semi-private classes with some of my jiu jitsu friends.

Success!!

He seems like a really cool, laid back guy. Can't wait to start.

Oh and I found out that there are several wrestling club nearby. Good stuff.

Thanks guys.

And if anyone wants to answer the question above, that'd be cool, as I'm curious as well.

I talked to Jody once, I have a very good impression of him from that and his bio. Good work son.

Bring him a muffin for me eh?

I mentioned that you're the one that referred me to him and he recognized your name instantly.

I owe you muffins.

I heard that there is a Greco club in Concord, CA, but the only thing I can find online is a Concord Community Youth Center. Is there some hidden program for adults that is just not on the web?
