Our records indicate that you have never posted on Bullshido.

Why not introduce yourself today in our Newbietown (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=64) forum, or if you're really brave, by jumping in to our YMAS (Your Martial Art Sucks) (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=54) off-topic comedy forum? If you're a fan of the UFC, Boxing, or another Combat Sport, you can join in on the discussion on the latest events in our Combat Sports forum (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13). Or if you're looking to help fight BS in the Martial Arts, post your insight in our flagship Bullshido (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10) forum.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi all. Just delurking to get rid of the above annoying (yet clearly effective) welcoming message.

I'm a shodan karateka from New Zealand, with about ten years experience. I started with Yoshukai karate in Christchurch, New Zealand (shodan in 2001), but I've been living abroad for the last six years or so, and have spent the last 5yrs here in Japan.

I've been training with a very small but good Geshinkai karate dojo here, though we only train once a week (actually more like three times a month) so it's been more a matter of maintaining my skill level than actually improving much.

I tend to prefer kata over kumite, though I enjoy both and pratice full contact sparring weekly. I love kicking and have recently been working on advanced jump/spin kicks (not the most practical, I know, but they are fun to do). I also enjoy weapons training (sai, bo, and a little bit of nunchaku), but my Japanese dojo doesn't do much weapons, so I'm limited to mostly personal practice at the moment.

I do hope a friendly bot will come by to welcome me with a prescripted welcome message!
