View Full Version : Creationists and their obscene stupidity.

So I was watching this kickass documentary Jurassic Fight Club . Later, I was thinking about how stupid creationists are and how biology doesn't make sense unless viewed within an evolutionary framework. Why would god give dogs black and white vision and color to humans? Why would he create slightly different species of birds each island on a cluster of islands? Why would he program animals to eat their own offspring? All of these things must be big issues for cretinists.

Anyway I was wondering if any cretinists had any views on the dinosaurs. I mean, why create these things several millions of years before humans, who are supposedly his favorite organism. (Actually you could argue that if indeed there was a god, bacteria would be his favored organism. The earth is way more suited to them than it is to us. Hell, you could argue that viruses are too.) But anyway, I decided to google "Why did god make dinosaurs?" and this is what I found.

which apparent is Adam, looking like a gay Tarzan trying to slip the tongue to a Hadrosaurus. (You can't blame him, Eve probably wasn't invented yet out of his rib.)

The conclusion of the site is that God made dinosaurs so we'd be like, really impressed and stuff. But then again, when you listen to people that literally believe that a magic wizard conjured up two fully formed humans, who went around naming several billion species including monstrous lizards that would have bitten their heads off, except for the fact that all animals were herbivores before the flood and.... you get the idea.

Now I'm not saying that all Christians are like them, but I am saying that they more like them than I am.

Well some Christians beleive in TWO creation. One before the time of the garden of Eden and then the secodn one you are refering too.

Some others go on to believe that what is written and in context is more important than figting over something not even in the Bible..........

But I suppose it's quite fun just thinking that all life just oneday started on it's own in a mineral pool where the temparature and conditions were EXACTLY right........... or did it ?

Even in the absence of all other evidence, mineral pools exist. That's one up on you.

Although western creationism gets the most publicity Muslim creationists are far more insidious. Religous maniacs like Adnan Okhtar (Harun Yahya) are widely supported in supposedly secular Muslim republics like Egypt and Turkey. The majority of Muslims believe unreservedly in the whole 7 day bullshit. Americian creationists get all the publicity but are essentially a fringe group while hundreds of millions of Muslims think the world is 6000 years old when there are trees still alive that are older than that.

and if you go and count the ice sheets on the poles you can count around 120 000 years since whatever the last age was. the whole 6000 theory is as far removed from religion as can be IMHO.

It's not written in the Bible so why go around telling it to everyone ?

Biblical scholars add up the ages of Adam and Methusalah and all the other imaginary old guys in genesis add one week for creation and viola the earth began in 4004 BC. What could be more scientific?

Refer the Creationists to the essay by John Colenso, Bishop of Natal, in the 19th C. who became Agnostic following his translation of the Bible into Zulu and one of the congregation asked him if he (Colenso) really believed the story of the Flood and Noah's Ark. How big could it be if it was able to take all the animals of the Earth (M & F) PLUS their Forage.

I posted this before on one of those Religioso threats, er, threads.

I have nothing further to add to this topic.

im going to play the devil's advocate here, so dont misunderstand me. i think creationism is one of the biggest idiocies that exist. but here goes.

first of all, there is only argument about this in the united states. i have never heard of schools anywhere else wanting to adopt creationism instead of evolution(doesnt mean it hasnt happened elsewhere though).

what does color vision have to do with this? dogs are different then humans, they have highly advanced noses and ears that humans can only dream of. while the fact that they cant see color can even be considered an evolutionary bonus.
seeing only black and white can make it easier to spot camouflaged animals for example.
does that mean god likes dogs more then us? no it doesnt. does god like bacteria more then us? probably not.
however, we would be considered his favorites because of the fact that we are the only creatures capable of worshiping him. however, he doesnt like us enough to make us be able to perceive him or understand him. (remember i'm playing the devil's advocate here) and that we have to earn that favor by following his rules and dying according to his will. which will earn us the right to perceive him.

now the bigger question, if god is omnipotent, omnipresent which the bible says he is, then why would he let the devil hold such sway and allow him to create misery, lies and deceit. and let animals eat their own offspring, and humans kill each other.

(this is where i stop playing the advocate)
the reason is if there is a god, then god is not good. good and evil do not exist outside of human reasoning.
if god exists then evolution is a tool of god, and the book of genesis is not to be taken literally but metaphorically. maybe 7 days in reality means 7 eras, or eons.

the first few sentences of the book of genesis actually FIT to the understanding that physics has. first there was only darkness(pre-big bang) then god spoke and created light(big bang) then he created the heavens and the earth(the creation of the sun and the earth).
so far it is not that far off.
where it doesn't fit is Adam and Eve, but is Adam and Eve a story about how life was created or how humans were created?

can you completely rule out the fact that some intelligent life form or higher consciousness had a hand in creating humans from monkeys?
why are we the only animals capable of reason?

evolution happens in part because of cosmic rays, could a cosmic ray have caused the mutation that led to humans? is it possible that there is a consciousness behind the mechanisms of the cosmos?

Talking to a cretinist is like talking to someone that believes stalks bring babies.

Pretty interesting how the wizard made all these animals and stuff then killed them all with a flood. IS that like when you play Sim City and you start to **** up your game so you just say "**** it" and restart?

Here's what some islamic douchebag said about dinosaurs:

http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/3668

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah created Adam (peace be upon him) on a Friday, the sixth day from the beginning of creation. Some texts mention what was created on the previous five days, in brief and general terms, but as to the details of what was created, Allaah knows best about that. Questions like this, on which no belief or deeds are to be based, are just meaningless distractions that are of no benefit. Faith does not increase or decrease according to whether one believes in dinosaurs or not. It was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade us to occupy ourselves with things that cause confusion and are not clear. We also know that people differ in their views as to whether these dinosaurs existed or they are just figments of the imagination. And Allaah knows best.

So in other words, the question isn't Islamic enough.

Apparently you have no idea what cosmic rays are. Also if there was a conciousness behind the mechanisims of the cosmos what would that imply? What is the point of making juvinile hypothesis based on nothing?
