**** you. **** every one of you who knocks on fighters. I don't know where people seem to get off making fun of guys who are agreeing to put their asses on the line in a cage fight.

Especially when most of those same people barely even train, and if they do, it's a once or twice a week BJJ white belt affair, where they spend the first half of class trying to remember how to pass guard, then sitting on the side of the mat when they are supposed to be rolling, talking about "OMG DID U SEE KALIB RUN AWAY? LOLZ" when they should be getting in the mix and actually training, so that they can perhaps one day be worth the ball sweat in even an amateur fighter's groin cup. The same people who then laugh at "crappy TMA" schools because they train at >insert Gracie< BJJ Academy, when probably a teenage point fighting TKDer who wrestled in Jr. High could take them in a real fight.

Yeah what happened last night was funny, but there's a difference between chuckling at Nate's antics, and **** talking a fighter, saying BS like how he should be kicked out of the UFC just because he got gun-shy and began backpedaling. This isn't the first time I've seen the coddled masses of armchair experts and Partial Artist hobbyists come clamoring to take a collective piss on a fighter. It's fucking pathetic and embarrassing to call yourself a fan of the sport. Go watch baseball or something, where it's accepted etiquette to ****-talk the players from the stands.

Did I mention to go **** yourselves?

I don't hate Kalib; in fact, I'd like to meet him personally to thank him for the laughs.

I agree. While certain fighters may suck by UFC standards they would still absolutely destroy like 99.9999999999997% of the people who bash them.

Since when is it not MMA etiquette to ****-talk fighters from the stands?

This brings up the age-old question of whether someone has to be at the same ability of an athlete in order to criticize said athlete's performance. I think most would agree the answer is 'no.' I don't see why MMA should be any different.

(For the record, I haven't said anything publicly about Kalib Starnes, nor do I usually talk bad about fighters. (Unless they're named Matt Hughes (but not because he can't fight, it's because he has a douchebag personality.)))

In all seriousness, I predicted that some big man would come to Starnes' defense. That was just as surefire as a bunch of guys coming on and bashing Starnes. For Christ's sakes man, just point and laugh.

I pay for a product, I criticize when the quality is for ****.

Don't like it, don't be a professional entertainer.

There are differences between criticism, complaint as a consumer, and simply **** talking.

Criticism: "What was that? He could have easily caught Nate with a solid punch as he was running like that. Why did he keep back-pedaling? Embarrassing."

Complaint: "I paid $45 to see THAT!?"

**** Talking: Go read any post currently on Sherdog.

Dude......It's Sherdog. What do you expect? It's not like they took a **** in the refrigerator and called it a casserole. Nothin' new from Sherdog.

Oh I posted it there too, don't worry. This was actually more in response to the ymtd thread on here.

There was, like, eight comments in that thread. And the site wasn't even made by a member.

To be fair, the Starnes YTMND is amusing; "sport bloopers" in general are always good for laffs.

Did I say this was directed at anyone in particular? It was directed at those who bash and **** talk fighters performances from the comfort of their sofas. Is there a chance that I could even go so far to say that this thread may be dedicated to the hundreds of lurkers who read this forum every day without posting, or in some cases even signing up?

But for the sake of argument, since you've come to the defense of Kalib bashers, and take pride in **** talking from your computer, allow me to take a moment and offer you my warmest wishes for you to promptly go **** yourself.

The **** talking is completely justified. If people are talking **** because someone tried their best and got outclassed by a superior fighter, I've got a problem with that.

However, the way Starnes acted in there was completely unacceptable. If you get into the cage without the will to win, you deserve every degrading comment you get. There's just no excuse for giving up like that, especially if you're a paid professional athlete.

I just don't like this friggin' repetition. When anybody gets bashed enough, someone comes to their defense, whether it's justified or not.

I have respect for any fighter that steps into the cage, but Starnes' performance last night was hilariously shitty. Can't we just awknowledge that and leave it? Is your rant really necessary? I felt like I was reading a magazine's letters section. It was fucking mind numbing.

For a PRO FIGHTER at the UFC LEVEL, Kalib's performance as SHAMEFUL. You want to tell me to F off because I think that? Thank right back at ya, slick.
