View Full Version : Still n00b

Hey all. I'm still a n00b, and I'm still in TKD. However, I will be moving back to Kansas (Topeka) in 4 months, and going to school in Lawrence. I'm trying to find new schools with little luck. So far I've come up with these two:

I like the modern arnis aspect of the second one. However, I have seen neither in person (I only visit Kansas rarely these days, and have not (and will not) had an opportunity to check either out until I move back. So, how do these schools seem to stack up to the experts out there? Anyone from Kansas lurking out there? I'm not sure how I like the workout schedule in the first one, but I definitely like the styles taught.

So yeah. Just looking for some feedback from the more experienced out there.

P.S. I apologize in advance for gravedigging on this bitch. I plan on resurrecting it from time to time.

So KSMeat, you decided to go ahead and register huh? Cool. Don't forget to review your dojo (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=83).

What do you want to get out of MA and do you know if they are both close to where you will be in Topeka?

The first link will be close to where I am living, the second link will be close to where I am going to school.

I want physical fitness, and practical knowledge. I know the MMA group will not be good for weapons, but far better for fitness. Meanwhile, I'm not certain on the caliber of the Kajukenbo/Modern Arnis group. I've personally met the instructors, but it was brief and around a decade ago.

Also, I am not very confident in my ability to sniff out quality instruction. I was definitely wondering if there were any warning signs of bullshido from these websites.

If there are anything that smells fishy, flag it up to the fraudulent MA forums, those guys now their Aishida's from their wanky chung pretty well.
