Thanx for the welcome syberia
Just another proud aussie flying the banner. I first started TKD early in 1986 reached brown tip in CHEAH TKD and unfortunately couldn't continue due to sickness. Then 14 or so years later I trained with an ATA instructor that was trying to make a start in Brisbane, ( he left that chritmas time never to be heard fron again ???) Trianed with ATA for about 1 year . The trained with GKR Karate for a while during 2001/02 but found it difficult to balance the amount of training I wished to do with a young family. Skip to now , my second son has shown an interest in MA so we checked out the local Rhee TKD outfit and subsequently joined, we both promoted to yellow tip Monday night. I enjoy it immensely , my son enjoys it I have never really had a bad experience with TKD, apart from tha ATA debarcle, not like some of the posts outlined in forums about other styles of TKD.

Good to hear you and your son enjoy it, and that you dont feel McDojo'd! Gotta do something to keep active with the family hey? Ah, Brissie hey? I've only been there once, and my family got lost five times while trying to drive back to the caravan park. Wether it was brisbane's fault or because my dad was navigating, we'll never know... ;)

If you havent already found them, check out the style forums, there is a korean MA one, you may want to check out for TKD Discussions and there is a BJJ (homland security) forum also, which you might want to look at to find out more about BJJ.

You'll find quite alot of TKD jokes on here, but dont worry, we make fun of everyone and everything so take everything with a grain of salt and you'll be just fine. My older sister has been doing TKD for a few years, nearly four now, and has just achieved her blackbelt. And she absolutley loves it.

Hope to see you out in the real world soon ;)
