View Full Version : Happy B-day Karate College!!

3/13/2008 11:56am,
The World’s Greatest Taekwondo, Karate, Kickboxing, Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts Summer Camp just got better! All arts, all style, all levels! Before picking up this months edition of Black Belt Magazine I had not idea this existed. Wasting all that money on a private college degree when I could have gotten my masters in kicking ass?!? Is this the modern day version of sending your child off to live with a master and train? What a great opportunity that would be. With names like Joe Lewi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Louis), Renzo Gracie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renzo_Gracie) and a special guest in June - Matt "The Terror" Serra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Serra) UFC Welterweight champion, I can only imagine the technique and knowledge that flows through that place. Must be nice.

Here's a little info off the main page:
Join us this year as we begin classes at our new location in the ultra modern Radford Recreation Center ( mile from the Radford University campus and closer to the hotels). The new location is fully air conditioned with fantastic acoustics, showers, break-out rooms, and viewing area. In addition to the incomparable Renzo Gracie, the vivacious Bill Wallace, the phenomenal Joe Lewis, the exuberant Mike Lee Kanarek, and the effervescent Michael DePasquale, Jr., we have as our special guests for 2008 the star of Spike TV’s “Ultimate Fighter 3” and UFC Welterweight Champion Matt “The Terror” Serra. Serra was the runaway star of the show and voted top UFC MMA coach of the program! We are introducing MMA in a big way at this year’s Karate College. On Saturday, June 28, we will feature a new Karate College trade show event and demonstration. Come meet these martial arts masters at Karate College 2008: The Year of New Beginnings!

Many long time Karate College campers tell us that they come back each year just to meet old friends or to continue instruction under one or more of their favorite masters. Whether you’re a student or a teacher, you’re guaranteed to take home new skills, ideas, and contacts with martial artists from across the country. The Karate College certificate of graduation has become a “must have” credential for instructors nationwide. Come as you are. There are no competitions or expectations. Have fun!

There is no better value than the world’s greatest summer camp—Karate College 2008: The Year of New Beginnings! The Karate College faculty members offer the perfect blend of striking, grappling, submissions, and traditional and competition arts. Note: Karate College 2008 has a space limitation of 250 campers. This camp will fill quickly, so register early to insure your space.
