This vid is up on youtube and also the main site (www.soobahkdo.com).

After watching it, it REALLY bothered me, cuz I knew I had heard the music somewhere but couldn't remember. Then in a brilliant flash of nerddom I figured it out.

It won some award, I forget what. The music is actually an extended 6 min track from the beest of star trek 30th anniversary CD.

Having done the art for quite some time ('bout 12 years). I would probably classify it kinda like

TKD with more of a Tai Chi peace of mind/mental emphasis emphasis instead of competitions with head and body shielding.

Though some schools I have seen run them more like any traditional TKD place.

And that's just terrible....

Yeah, the quality of training varies in the Fed.

I had a pretty good instructor, we always had alot of sparring with no gear, medium contact, clinching/throws/groundwork allowed. He'd also tell us to go crosstrain to fill in the holes. We also started a fight club at our university, had pretty decent showings from capoiera, bjj, WC, TKD - till the administration shut it down.

I always wanted to check out the JHU club. I'd heard so many good things about you guys.

My instructor left unfortunately. In the last several years, most of the martial arts clubs at JHU suffered losses of their top people graduating or moving on with their lives.
