Near the end of Lethal Weapon 2 when Mel Gibson as Riggs is fighting Rudd's hitman Pieter Vorstedt at the shipping yard, Pieter comes dancing in with something that looks to be a very interesting and good fighting art. (Although he cheats first by throwing the knife into the back of Riggs' knee). But ignoring that for the moment, is this a martial or fighting art anyone recognises? Is it kickboxing? Some kind of MMA?

Thanks.

In spite of what some other web-sites would have you believe, we here at Bullshido.net welcome you, whitebelt.au, with open arms and hope that you will share with us your unique experiences and ideas on the martial arts.... so that we may then make fun of those experiences and ideas.

From the Lethal Weapon Wiki.....

"Cedric Adams was the first expert brought in. "Adams thought the best possible way to show just how lethal Riggs really is -- is to show his mastery of a form of martial arts never before seen onscreen," said Donner. Adams taught the actors the movements of Capoeria. A second technical advisor, Dennis Newsome, brought Jailhouse rock to the fight sequence. The third technical advisor was Rorion Gracie, who specialized in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu."

So a cross between Capo, a (possibly) BS jailhouse style/brawling and BJJ Google wins again!
