Apparently Humvee windows had been removed to assist in ballistic protection of an observation post in Iraq - Good job really.

I wonder if the the second shot, towards the end of the clip, was a counter-sniper?

Laughing at dead bodies or almost getting killed is how people cope with being in those situations and that enviroment.

Yeah, unfortunately people who've never seen the wrong end of a rifle don't understand the survival euphoria effect which occurs in situations depicted in the clip I posted.

I'd rather my guys react in a similar way rather than screaming in fucking panic because someone almost got shot in the head.

- It isn't bravado or recklessness but, just as Grant states, it's an almost natural way of psychologically coping with something as serious as that. Survival euphoria is a weird thing, it can set in almost immediately or minutes - even hours after the event.

Sounds very interesting, always wanted to study military psychology but never got a good chance. Did once see a documentary showing the massive effect the shape of targets (target practise) had.

Whats that glass of, polycarbonate?

Uhhh, glass is made out of sand isn't it? :)

Couldn't agree more Dave. When you're guys start becoming quiet and humorless that's whenou need to get them some help.

I wonder if there was any spalding from that glass.

I dunno but I wouldn't want to have the ****-stick duty of looking out that direction further unless I knew the sniper had been... taken care of.

The replacement vehicle should have been enroute to the location as soon as the TC called higher. That is just not safe.

As far as the glass composition, I don't know the exact mix, but it is a polycarbonate blend. Extremely durable to blasts and direct projectile impacts.

That is just not safe.Slight understatement?

Great, now I'm imagining the soldiers shaking their fists at the sniper yelling "you'll have someone's fucking eye out you ****!".

Coincidentally, I heard those were King Harold's last words.
