Didn't see anything regarding this, so here it goes

Brothers Murilo Rua and Mauricio Rua announced Tuesday that they have left Chute Boxe.

The brothers said their departure from the Brazilian team was friendly. They will form their own squad in Massachusetts.

"We regret the departure of Mauricio and Murilo Rua," said Chute Boxe trainer Rudimar Fedrigo in an official statement. "They are fighters born here at Chute Boxe and left the team to form their own in the United States. Remember that the doors of Chute Boxe will always be open to both, and I wish good luck and success in their new job."

Under the guidance of Fedrigo and other Chute Boxe trainers, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua rose to prominence as one of the best light heavyweight fighters in MMA. He sat atop most 205-pound and pound-for-pound rankings before Forrest Griffin submitted the Brazilian in September. Older brother "Ninja" recently relinquished the EliteXC middleweight belt to Robbie Lawler .

What is happening to Chute Boxe lately? It seems that they’re losing all their big fighters

It could be that after the end of PRIDE, training/fighting off Brazil is no longer lucrative compared to what they may be able to do if they set up camp in the US (???)

Holy ****. They're coming to Massachusetts? Whereabouts? Boston? Please tell me it's Boston.

Who does this leave as Chute boxe's big gun? Thiago Silva? Wanderlai trains elsewhere now too, does he not?

I guess that would make some sense, but remember that Chute Boxe has a camp in Cali, so they could have continued trainning off California, this seems more along the lines of lack of quality people on the Cali camp and not being a able to train/fight off Brazil, also, both Ninja and Shogun lost their last fights (Ninja losing the title to Lawler), maybe they're not happy fighting off chute boxe and that's all.

Good luck to both of them though

Ninja was in our club recently training one of our fighters...it would be nice if they were near by.

Massachusetts?

Wow, the East Coast MMA scene just became infinitely more interesting.

I've been hearing that Team Link is trying to get them to join up with them as instructors. However they may be looking more towards the boston area instead of western MA (where team link is based). This is all hearsay so don't quote me on it.

Ninja is coming to my school to train for his next fight for about a month or so. Whether he and shogun stay are up n the air.

I have been told by more than reliable sources that they really don't want to be instructors, they just want to have a fight team. Team Link seems like a good option (not my school) because of the brazilian connection. I just can't see them at marks at sityodtong...that would seem like a clash of cultures.

Shanomac, where you train?

I train at Nexus Martial Arts.

www.nexusma.com

There is an announcement on the home page so I dont think I am saying anything I shouldn't. I have known for a bit, but kept it under wraps just in case.

As a shameless plug, this is the best place I have ever trained at.
