Wednesday 18th October, 10 pm (real English time, none of the EDT PST PMS nonsense)...
Fight Science is broadcast, so anyone in the UK with the relevant home viewing package can tune in and watch what everyone else saw about two months ago:
http://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/explore/fightscience/home.aspx

There's actually a much better thread about it here:
http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=45482
so if you don't have cable etc, or just can't be arsed to watch it, you can read about it there instead.

Ok, here's my in-depth review...
Missed the first half 'cos my wife decided to talk to me and then did a hootie-dance.
Fell asleep during the second half.
On the whole, probably shouldn't have bothered watching it.

The hootie-dance?

I always enjoyed her hootie-dance.

Et cetera. . . .

I know. This thread really is worthless without pics.

I watched it. Worst thing ever.

Now, now, Mrs. Sochin101 really puts her heart . . . among other things . . . into her hootie dance.

Man... that is the last time I mail Odacon video of hootie-dancin' first.
He's my quality control guy... he says it sucks, I'll delete it rather than post it.
I thought he'd at least give her marks for enthusiasm, athleticism, and all-around bustiness.

She'll be mortified.

. . . not to mention "artistic merit" for what she does with that hand vac. . . .

No, that was a full-size vac... she's a big girl.

But, seriously...
If you're going to have a tv show with the words "Fight" and "Science" in the title... shouldn't there be more fighting than LARPing? And if there's scientific data... why only mention half of it?
The weapons section was better... I thought it had potential when they pulled out a crowbar and baseball bat.

Yeah, then it turns out to....not.

Odacon

The whole thing was cringeworthy. I'd despair to watch it with someone not familiar with martial arts.

This is like "Secrets of the Bible" or other shows that are made to please the sheep that make up the audience.

People want to believe in the supernatural.

The pole walking thing was a bit weird. They should have taken that section out and spent more time on the weapons.

But it was amazing how much force was generated by a knee strike.
