Hmmm.......I didn't know shaking hands was a cause for attack.

Or maybe he is afraid of big women?

What the hell is he doing at 00:34? I know that everthing else is crap too, but at least in the other moves he looks like he is pretening to apply some kind of lock.

And what the hell is up with the bouncing at 00:53 is she simulating a Chimpanzee attack. Where is the poo flinging defense?

Here's some better Aikido. It's still Aikido but better.

The second video is better but certainly doesn't show the effectiveness of the art.

That the video is sped up makes it even more entertaining, but no matter what else, the ukes now how to fall and move. It looks like they are landing on a wooden stage. To flip yourself at speed and land from height, over and over again, without getting hurt, takes a lot of practice and skill. If you look at aikido as the art of falling down, it surely exceeds all others.

The martial art of falling down?

Hrm... Six Years' Aikido training, vs. One Summer, Circus Arts Pratfall course. Barnum & Bailey for the win.

I am beginning to look at aikido as the art of being a crappy gymnast who watches too many kung foo movies and thinks he's a badass and secretly hopes he never gets into a real fight.:bs:

Blah blah blah hard styles blah Tomiki blah blah competition with resistance blah

Yeah not much in the video to defend, although I still wouldn't pick a fight with that guy.

Wow...that second video is amazing. Next time I am wandering around barefoot, and I am attacked by a barefoot assailant I am so going to use that first technique.

I won't say you're wrong. But the one thing I got from Aikido was great uekemi and have benn able to step into CSW, BJJ, Judo, wrestliong and train the takedowns and throws at full speed with out getting hurt.

So Aikido does a very good job with that.

I too credit aikido for not ever sustaining any types of injuries while training takedowns.
