This is the obligatory introductory newbie post. I'm getting into the martial arts again after a long time, looking at joining a submission grappling/MMA/BJJ school
near SUNY Albany, where I'm studying Russian (like anyone cares, heh). I took kidrate for balls know how long -- far too long, it was -- and then a year and a half of Chen-style Xiao Jia taijiquan. It would have been pretty nifty stuff if we trained for fajin. ;)

Anyway, that's about all that anyone cares about knowing about me here. So hi.

Now, really. Is that any way to introduce yourself to new people?

Do you have any video of your XMA events?

I was totally self-taught and thus never went to any events. I practiced on grass, not mats, which may have been part of the problem with effing up my knees. ;)

I have a couple more newbie questions for you guys while I'm here,
these being: Do any of you know if http://www.albanynovauniao.com/ is a good place for me to start to learn groundfighting? And do you guys think this article: http://www.savateaustralia.com/Savate%20Essays/Bare-Knuckles%20to%20Modern%20Boxing.htm is BS or not? Have you tried the 'attitudes' depicted there, and are they effective?

Thanks again.

100 metre? more like the marathon

The link in question has nothing to do with Savate, believe it or not, but with old-style bareknuckle boxing. I'm not fond of the French on principle, myself. ;D
