Hardly a good showing on either side, but I get the impression the KK guy finally realized toward the end that his opponent's hits wouldn't do anything anyway.

I've always wondered that since you're obviously a Kyokushin practitioner. Are you simply referring to Kyokushin or your interpretation of it or something?
