Anybody play super smash brothers melee? I'm trying to get past the 100 man kumite, but I"m getting owned. I can't seem to get past the 25 remaining mark without getting to like 150% of damage and then getting owned by a bottle of ramune that gets tossed at me.

So far, I've tried using Kirby, Pikachu, Ganon/Captain Falcon, Zelda and Link to no avail. Pikachu seems to have the best chances of winning but I still can't seem to do it.

Anybody done this? And if so, who do you use and what are your tactics?

If you can't beat it with Link you're terrible.

Link sucks.

ahhh...use DK, spam down B from the very beginning. Boring but effective.

It takes a real man to beat the 100 man kumite on one life.

I did this a long time ago and I don't remember who with, but I might give it a shot later tonight if I get bored. An overall very cheap strategy for playing against the computer is to fly around as kirby or jiggly puff until there are items to use against them, in which case item whore like crazy.

Yeah but that is gay and not really fighting. It's the most challenging with Zelda. She has some great enemy clearing moves and when you have to get down to it, you can change to Sheik and throw that mother down like it's nobody's business.

I want to know what you had to do with what character to beat the 100 man kumite with style. I know it's possble, I've seen it done before.

I won it with Ness at one time, but I lost a life...PK Flash was my best friend.

But in 100 man kumite, you only get one life.

Then...wait a minute...oh yeaeah, never mind...I did a different thing with ness

Well I think DK would be best for the 100 man thing then. Think about it Donkey Kong's pound the ground move would send the wire frames flying off the stage instantly. Also, as
long as you keep holding down and pushing B, DK won't stop. You may be hit a
few times, but you should be able to clear this in no time if you use that.

As someone already mentioned, DK with the down+B is the easy way to do it.

Fox's reflector is also useful, but requires the use of good timing and evasion (and is, in my opinion, altogether more fun)
