Can someone give me a copy of standard amateur Vale Tudo rules? I'm thinking my fight club should go by those rules, so I want a copy of them. AS far as I'm aware, it's something like full VT rules but with no head shots. Can anyone help out?

Thanks.

Same as regular Vale Tudo rules except you don't get paid and the rounds are shorter.

noooo :(

Unfortunately, general amatuer vale tudo moves, although not necessarily and usually practiced in class like this, go like this:

1)Somtimes shin guards have to be worn.
2)No Punches to the face(!) - ridiculous
3)and no Heel hooks :(

These are the UK rules for most I'm afraid...

I'm thinking something along the lines of, no face shots, no groin shots, no kicks to front of knee, no small joint locks... can't think of anything else at the minute.

And yeah, we will probably wear shin guards, and VT gloves and mouthguards - definitely mouthguards if we decide to go full contact.

I say you just use UFC rules, minus the ***** ones like "No biting", "No scratching", "No pinching", "No light slapping", "No deep massages", and "No grabbing of the uvula".

They don't call it the Nazi PARTY for nothing!

Where the **** do you get your Vale Tudo rules!!??? No punches to face what a crock!!?? The amateur bouts I've been exposed to says no punching to face with closed fist sometimes and definetely no strikes to head while on the ground.
Shin guards are for little kitty cats (pussies)

Vale Tudo rules=oxymoron

Don't you have an instructor who can tell you these things?

Now doesn't that make you feel better?

Boyd-You are one messed up man. I knew that would be coming sooner or later....lol. You forgot "No making out." and "No enjoying ground fighting too much."

Das Cow-Why not just use UFC rules.....though i'm sure you want to "save face." Lol

I'm going to introduce full contact eventually - but for the first few sessions I want to see how we're going but minimising injuries

If they can't take light contact in the face maybe they're in the wrong hobby.

I think whatever the rules are they vary massively depending on wherever you go to fight.
I think it can often depend on what licences the venues can get hold of too.
Some VT fights allow heel hooks, some don't, some don't have mitts and some do.

If I was running a club (which I am nowhere near experienced enough to do):
1)You wear mitts, gumshield, and box, but that's it (apart from clothing obviously). Oh, and wrestling shoes if you want.
2)No groin attacks.
3)No eye attacks.
4)No throat attacks.
5)No knee attacks.
6)No elbows to the spine.
7)No hair pulling.
8)No biting.
9)No small joint manipulation.
10)Do not talk about fight club.
11)Do not talk about fight club, oh sorry, already said that.

Something like that.

that's a decent set of rules for beginning competition.
