I saw this flyer. Why are all the damn bjj tourneys around me always in Indiana? I do intend on entering this one due to missing out on E.G.O. to a pulled muscle. It's starting to get cold here and I have nothing better to do than roll so I'll be looking to compete in this one.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it to this one, sadly. I've got a lot of school **** due the week after, and if I did go, I'd be going alone. None of my teammates seem too interested, plus the two instructors that usually coach/compete with us are going to be in a wedding that day.

We'll see, though.

I'll let everyone in my jujutsu class know about this. There's a MT event in Ft Wayne on the same day as this, so I don't think I'll be able to go to this.

Actaully, the best we had to offer, Rob and Jason, both lost their first matches. We were shocked! We got an award for having the most people there but the wins were few. :sad11:

Lama beat one of our guys.
Lama, how does it feel to beat a man over twice your age? :toothy10:

Rob and Jason competed in the Open to redeem themselves and Rob was first and Jason was third. Jason's match for third was against one of Lama's friends. It was a fun match, not just for us to watch but for them too. They were smiling and talking the whole time. During the Open Rob also choke someone out.

One guy that got a third for us has only been training for 3 weeks.
Of course he is a 4 year high school wrestler who's talent is hidden behind that white belt.

In the normal brackets, I can only think of one first place victory for my school but I might be forgeting someone.

Rob and Jason = cross-choker extraordinaires!!

Rob choked someone out while Jason tapped my teammate with the same choke. The thing is that they weren't even "deep". These guys seemed to be able to slap on the cross-choke from anywhere.

I beat a 3-stripe blue from RP. He was in my guard and I swept him. Went for a triangle from top as my coach screamed "Straighten out your leg to get the mount for the points!!." Had one of his arm pinned with my leg so I wanted to finish him. He got out of the triangle and went back in my guard. I worked from the bottom and went for an armbar which I transitioned into a triangle. I clamped down my foot and time expired for the match. That guy got some serious dad strength with good techniques and postures!!! Heck, I wish I can still compete when I am his age!!!!

he would need another 13 years to be twice my age :icon_sunn
