"But here is the thing, all the dojos in the world and all of the wisdom of all the karate masters will not train you for a real life encounter with someone who wants to kill you and will do whatever they have to do to achieve that objective.

The real world is not the mat and the gym, the real world is not the karate kid part 6, the real world is concrete pavement or gravel or cold water, the real world is nasty, tough and blood thirsty. I know, because I am the Real World." Former Navy SEAL Commander of Team 6 and Red Cell, Richard Marcinko 2001

Um...Hasn't the entire world decided that Marcinko is full of **** and embellishes EVERYTHING when he doesn't out and out lie?

I suppose the more ignorant members of society hold that opinion, I however have never doubted his military accomplishments nor his wisdom on unconventional warfare.

I read his book. It was quite a good read. I never heard he was full of **** though....

Fisting,
I think that the "community" considers his first book, "Rogue Warrior", a worthwhile read, but that he is a bit self-aggrandizing and tends to embellish, especially in his later books. To be fair, most of the later material doesn't claim to be anything other than fiction.

**The most miraculous power that can verifiably be attributed to "chi" is its ability to be all things to virtually all people, depending on what version of the superstition they are attempting to defend at any given moment.**

Furthermore, that whole "You think you're hard? You don't know **** about hard. Hard is watchin' your best friend's head explode in front of you. Hard is catchin' a bullet between your teeth while riding a jetski made of straight razors across a lava tidal wave and fending off an army of bloodthirtsy pirates." speech has been lifted from every single Vietnam movie ever.

They don't call it the Nazi PARTY for nothing!
