on why i should contribute to the site and become a member?

I'm sure the reasons are posted somewhere on the forum, but after a half-assed attempt to find it i said forget it. If Bullshido wants my $20 they can find it for me... or flame my lazy-ass to death.

So beyond the fact that i enjoy coming to this site, getting a neat little shiny supporter name tag, signature rights, and access to the BBC forums... why should i? Is the money going to site upgrades? Keeping the site alive? or greasing someones pockets? $20 is pretty trivial but i'd like to have a good reason... sides i'd have to actually go through the process of figuring out how to access my paypal account.

It's simple really. Either you care or you don't(or your broke.)

Considering the sheer number of message boards that have banned me I think it would be a bad investment personally.

Hosting ain't free.

This isn't a porn site where you have to worry about whether or not they have good stuff...it's all right infront of you. Take a look around...if you like what you see, pony up and help out.

If you don't want too. Don't.
Nobody forces you to contribute ****, but if you stay around awhile, you'll realize that there are far worse things you can spend your money on.

Donate if you like the idea of Phrost rolling naked in a bed of $20 bills.

Otherwise, don't.

I know there is alot of socializing and BS that goes on here, and I enjoy most of it. But I contributed to support this site as a forum to root out and discuss fraudulent activities/marketing in the martial arts. I am a libertarian, politically, and prefer non-government solutions to common problems. This forum is a way for the community to police itself.

A nice bonus is having a place to post a training log (available inside the BBC). I actually have a hosting business, so access to bandwidth/software is no big deal. But I enjoy reading what other people are doing and comparing to my routine, as well as answering criticisms etc. and getting the occasional encouragment.

It is very hard to get banned here.

About the only way is to continually harass a member in a threatening member (i'm not talking about flaming, actual pm and email harrassment).
Nothing else seems to do it.

Sweet Jesus, thanks for the nightmares. Now I am having second thoughts about the single, miserable donation I made.

It goes to the site, to keep it running. Phrost has run the site at a loss for years now.

If you don't count all of a certain troll's multiple accounts, we've probably banned a whopping 6 people in 3 years.

I've been putting together a page which covers the benefits of being a Supporting Member.

Here it is:

Well for a reason like that, what choice do i have but to donate?

Which is of course his perogative... BUT i have to give props to him for keeping this site up and its supporters. Bullshido certainly has opened my eyes in many areas that i was once blind to. Also alot of work has been put into this site and must admit that this is pretty much the only site i ever visit on a consistant basis. So i will toss one more $20 bill towards Phrost's bedsheets.

You can also keep a Training Journal in a special Supporting Members forum. All the cool kids are doing it.
