The dirty old fucker is respectable, I'll give him that.

After a short time in a UK hospitol under the knife for heart surgery, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani is back in Iraq to hundreds of flag waving Iraqis at his home.

Sistani has said he will journey to Najaf and stay there until the end of the crisis.

He's also asked all "believers" to march there with him in an effort to bring about an end to the conflict which has hurt both Americans and Iraqis alike.

I dont know how much the people here know about this guy but his influence is so strong that if 10,000 Iraqis march on the shrine I would say it was a bad turn out.

When the Iranians called upon Sistani to return to their country the U.S. could do nothing but watch as the Shah was reduced to a joke and Sistani was welcomed by Iran.

If theres any hope to end this violence this man holds 90% on his shoulders.

You might be tempted to dismiss him as a fruitcake Islamo but he just had heart surgery and is travelling into a war zone until the fighting is over.

Does anyone here think John Kerry or George Bush would travel to L.A. if it was being bombed daily?

The guys got balls and integrity.
