Since I finally have a real job where I will make about 40k before the end of the summer and probably another 20k after that assuming some changes at work go through, I was wondering what type of car I should get. I am planning on saving up and paying either cash or 75% down since monthly payments piss me off.
Criteria:
Convertable
Sports car
Ideally it would have a clutchless transmission...but if it is a straight up standard I could live with that.
It can be used.
Right now I am planning on trying to find a 2002 or 2003 Audi TT.
Any other ideas?
Anyone have one and love it or hate it?

I love Audis, but convertibles? Not really my style.

I dig convertibles.
I am just worried about if the cars tend to be dependable or not.

Why? I love stick but can't stand triptonic shifting (or whtvr it's called), you loose so much of the controll. It reminds me that I could be driving stick, but that I am not.

edited for grammar mistake

Real sports cars have manual transmissions.

Yeah, but I have to drive through a lot of stop and go traffic which makes me sad when I drive a stick. If push comes to shove I will probably go stick, but I also want cruise control...

I had the "pleasure" of taking the Mercedes Maclaren for a test drive ( cousin has a dealership).
I am SO glad that baby had the "F-1" transmission !!!
Those 600 ++ HP would have been murder to control !!!
The "special" transmission on High performance cars MAY take some fun awya IF you are used to the "stick" on the lower end cars, but let me tell you, when you are dealing with serious ponies, it helps big time !!

I HATE Manual. I also have to sit in a lot of traffic. I'll never buy a manual again.
