So taebomaster and shadowdragonx came to visit my gym today.
And we go over to the local shaolin do place, two blocks away. They (SD) have a pamphlet that advertises one of their Sifu's "fearsome prowess in sparring".
I ask to spar the guy and they say "well the principle of our school is not for you to go and challenge our guy to spar." So I ask them if I can spar ANYONE there and they say no.
In retrospect I was really nervous and probably too nice, even thanking the guy for his time.
But anyway, 0WNED.

Afterwards I show TBM and SDX some techniques, we do some alive drilling, then we spar. Before anyone asks, yes, me by four different armbars, but that's not the point of a mcthrowdown, IS IT, YOU COCKWAVING FUCKS?!

Then we all have a contest to see how long we can go vs gracie_austin (phil cardella) before getting tapped.

None of us last more than two minutes.

TBM and SDX will fill you guys in on the details.

The school that backed down is www.swshaolin.com

You can see some of their "sparring" at http://www.swshaolin.com/mj_fights.asp

And now for shaolin do DISASTER IMAGES FLOOD!

The part of the pamphlet is, and I quote "Sifu matt is known for his fearsome abilities in sparring".

That bald guy is spooky.

To be fair.... they did tell Hedgehogey that he could spar their students if he signed up with them and stayed with their school for "long enough". Hardly acceptable.

There's still a chance, anyway. Hedge didn't get to meet the head instructor or anything, so if he decides to follow up on it and is persisten enough, he might get a match. Unlikely though.

Oh, and Hedgehogey also mentioned his school and that it's their policy to allow anyone to spar that wants to, and he tells me he's left an open invite for the Shaolin Do folks to come over to his BJJ school..... no takers yet.

Bottom line: We were all left laughing at these supposed "fearsome" sparring abilities.

Oh, and Hedgehogey lost 5 dollars to me because he couldn't drop SDX in 4 or fewer leg kicks.

He looks like Powder .

Ive been on about these Shaolin-Do losers FOREVER ....

I HATE these guys .Look at their bullshit "Techniques" section ... They have Basic **** at Master levels , and Vice Versa , and they ALSo have WAAAAAAAYYYY too much **** to learn in a Lifetime . I know ppl that have spent 30 YEARS using ONE of the shits on their list as a Fighting Style ....

But they can learn all of it because of Sin Kwan The's mystical Chi Brainpawas .

Regarding the actual throwing down part of it, I enjoyed this go around even more than last time, and got more out of it, because Hedge wasn't sick and injured this time. He's got a really good guard, that I think I only managed to pass once..

In sparring, he's got some pretty decent stand up skills. Despite being a good 30 pounds or more lighter than me, he was able to keep me at a distance when he wanted, and didn't let me get off many punching combos. I did manage to tear up his legs pretty bad though with some kicks. Hedge also attempted some flying knees and elbows, but they were really obvious, so I dodged without any difficulty. After taking several leg kicks, Hedge closed for the clinch. He basically waited for me to take him down, which I did, only to end up in his guard. After trying to pass his guard a little bit, I left him an arm too locked out and he armbarred me. This same scenario describes both of our fights pretty much.

Sparring Phil is always fun. From the moment he gets his hands on you, you can feel that the guy has got good control over you, but he lets you move around and try stuff on him. He even intentionally gave up mount to get me in his guard. The first time I rolled Phil he choked me with a forearm against my throst, the second time he armbarred me, if I remember correctly. I last 15 seconds and 30 seconds with him. Like Hedge said, we had a little competition to see who could last the longest, and Hedge won, lasting a minute and 8 seconds.

Well, while the art seems to be founded on a lie, and the stuff is probably a bunch of crap (in most cases, sure there are probably exceptions), that man physically looks to be in alright condition, yet he is sweating. Not some fat, over weight guy. So, if nothing else fails, it makes for a decent workout.

Sin The' is a business man plain and simple. His HQ used to be in Lexington Ky. It was a martial arts studio with a wave pool and family fun center until he went bankrupt. Maybe not such a good business man.

Well now that the real shaolin temple in Henan, China has finally trademarked the words "Shaolin" and "Shaolin Temple" internationally, it won't be long before they take some sort of legal action against these guys.
