I ran across some posts from a guy calling himself Rob Dorsey on another forum (SBG Sword Forum) and find his posts rather suspicious... he claims to have studied Muso Shinden Ryu, Katori Shinto Ryu, and Koryu Bujutsu.
Attached below are some of his posts that I was able to find, but I couldn't find the one post where he mentioned that he was starting up is own dojo/making his students call him Sensei... he also stated in that post that he was using extant materials from his previous (and self admitted very little) training in the above arts. Included in his curriculum are also some "newly developed techniques" he's supposedly discovered/rediscovered.
There's not really any mention of his dojo or JSA training on the internet that I've been able to find other than his personal web page about his science fiction writings and his music business.
I hate talking negatively about other people/martial artists, but there's something really odd about his topics (and how he basically sits back and lets other members of the forum argue about the validity of what he's posted) and his attitude towards JSA/life in general... Anyway, I just wanted other's opinions on the matter and see their perspective.
Here are the topics he's written about JSA/swords recently:

Have you posted any responses asking him to document his alleged training? With whom and where, and licensing he may have achieved ? That might be a place to start.

He's clearly a nutbar. Ignore him, what else can you do?

Holy ****. bullshido has invaded sword buyers guide? I never noticed. I guess that's what happens when you stick to the European sword subforum.

Yep, I tried asking him as diplomatically as possible about his affiliation to any JSA groups/instructors, and his standing in those groups - he basically ignored me and actually attacked another forum member on SBG for calling him a troll.

"The following rant is not intended for the 5% of forum users who are both civil and educated. You know guys, I abandoned this forum for quite a few months and for just the sort of silliness this thread has brought to light. First the entire faux-civility and fake courtesy "well, with all respect and due courtesy, you are a word whoring troll who doesn't know squat about the art" sort of diatribe True courtesy acknowledges understanding of the speaker's point and then presents a differing and objective view of that or an alternative point. That's the essence of a true debate.
Many on this forum put themselves on sword art pedestal from which they pontificate regarding other's lack of knowledge or citation. Please, it makes me ill to "debate" with barely literate yokels who would not know a real debate if it bit them in the ... well, you get it. The very idea that I had put concepts out there that required actual thought in order to answer was an act of trolling is on its face, ludicrous. It seems that no one or very few on the forum cut any slack or at the very least try to understand the OP's thesis before attacking. Here the rule seems to be attack first then never apologize.
I came back only to kill the time while my wife gets ready for bed. I thought maybe it had gotten better.
Oh well, no matter since the mods will remove this anyway."

At this point, I'm done with this bullshido artist and hope that people avoid his "dojo" like the plague.

OK, I know I said I was done with this thread, but had to come back and add something new "Sensei" Dorsey recently posted:
"So, I've made up my mind. I will write my own school, my own ryu for me and any who might like to follow it. I"ll lay out all the kata with nice diagrams and little figures like most books) and call it Furudanuki Mushiya Ryu (Sly Old Warrior's School)

Instead of seiza the kata will either begin from standing or sitting in chair. Part of the purpose is to build relevance to modern situations, where possible. I'll let you know when it's done. I'm in final edit with my editor on a book right now so it may be a month or so."

So the guy won't answer civil inquiries into his background and training?

Huge red flag there for sure.

Nutbar, as per NeilG...

Thinks a sword is a practical self defense weapon? All the flags.

He appears to be a LARPing antique collector with a sword fetish.

He did eventually answer the question if you read that thread through - he's never stuck with any one teacher or school long enough to get a rank or even bother naming the style, and now he's making up his own style based on years of mostly solo practice. If anyone wants to take him seriously after all that, they get what they deserve as far as I'm concerned.

That code you didn't want to look at must have been pretty bad. I wasn't able to force myself through all that reading... Thanks !

I agree.

The only thing though is that some of his "students" might not know what to look for if/when they take classes from him. There are so many fakes out there, it's easy for a noob to be taken in by a fraudulent sensei like this guy.

He seems to be a kindred spirit of Phil Elmore:

'I scared the bejeezus out of a couple of trash "pickers" in front of our house. My wife was doing yard work when these two characters showed up and started rifling through our trash, put out for collection. My wife asked them to leave and they got stroppy. I was in the house practicing (I practice a lot) and I stepped out front in kimono and hakama with my favorite practice sword, strode over to the curb (I have perfected Mifume's walk), drew the sword and assumed Hasso Gamae. They quickly hit the road saying something about "this old bastard's crazy, who the hell does he think he is, yadda yadda."'
