Something doesn't seem right....would it be a good school?

they had some heat going on sherdog too due to unclear promotion times, lineage and past affiliations:

Hi Billy220, welcome to the site.

It's customary to post a thread i newbietown to introduce yourself and your ma experience so members can get an understanding of what experience you are posting from.

Please read all the stickies in each forum before posting, there the ones at the top of the thread lists with the Bill220! READ ME! in the title.

If you had read the stickies for this forum you would know that the forum you posted this question in is reserved for active investigations of actual fraud (and is moderated heavily). The question you've posted is better suited to Newbietown or YMAS.

Don't worry, just make sure you read the stickies and stick to the rules.

Now, to kick it off what martial arts experience have you had and what are you looking to get out of training?
Also, have you been down to the gym in person to check out a class and the instructors?

After reading the sherdog page, it doesn't seem like anyone bothered to contact the school to ask the instructors where they received their belts, although I guess it was confirmed that they currently train.

I'd just contact them and ask about their lineage, generally places that are legit will be up front about things.

It does seem like that a lot of people had complaints about their pricing structure and contracts etc. I would be wary of any place that lets a white belt teach after years of being a "spectator".

Really with so many great choices to train in NYC, why bother?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site and felt like this would best topic to join in on. I live not to Far From the Park slope Academey and took some time to look at there website. There are some questions that I have. The first question i have is how do the instrucors reffer to themselves as a Professor's when they are ranked as purple belts? and have only been tarining since 2007. Secondly they have an instructor who is a white belt and has only been training for a year. This does raise eyebrows, inparticular in NYC were there are many reputable BJJ schools to choose from. My final question is that there is no mention of who there Sensei's are.
