Today's my major treat day, so I'm having a ribeye that I found on sale at the local Shankway (like Safeway, but without the "safe" part because this is motherfucking RICHMOND. I mean there are more meth addicts than shoppers in the parking lot and you can easily find needles and chunks of weed lying around out there. Despite this, on the whole people here have been a lot nicer and more polite than they were when I lived in Yuppieland.)

In a cast iron skillet (they are the best dammitt) I caramelized sweet onions with bacon in butter with black pepper, 21 seasoning salute, cayenne pepper and garlic salt. Then I browned some brussel's sprouts, making sure they still had some crunch to them, in butter, wine, salt, and garlic.

Then it was somesalt and pepper and a bit of 21 seasoning salute on this big thick marbled ribeye, which I browned and pulled out while it was still rare. RARE, so it isn't a hard dry ruined flavorless hockey puck.

So that's what I'm eating. How about you?

I went to an Indian buffet with my coworkers. As the token white guy, they think its hilarious seeing me sweat when I eat too much spiciness. Good stuff, though.

That sounds good.
It's early yet but i was thinking steak might be good tonight too.
I blackened and peeled some peppers last night so i'll probably do something along those lines, make a salsa with roasted sweet corn and some chips to get the juices going.
I'll probably just make some simple garlic, rosemary roasted taters and steamed asparagus with the steak.
Rare steak is a must, just "muddy salt"

and lots o black pepper for me, mebbe finish with a little butter and garnish with blackened rosemary.
I think a decent GSM or a bottle of Bogle Petite Syrah would fit the bill nicely.

My diet today is the same as my typical daily diet when I'm in a gaining phase.

Breakfast: 6 extra large eggs, with just a little salt and pepper; 1 apple and 1 banana, with 2-3 tbsp of peanut butter.

Lunch: 1/2 - 3/4 lb. of very lean beef brisket with some barbecue sauce; 1 large peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Dinner: 10 oz. of lean chicken breast, 2 cups (precooked) rice, 4-5 cups of mixed vegetables. For dessert: frosted shredded wheat w/ 1% milk.

In all, it's ~5000 calories, with 250+ grams of protein. It's not perfect, but that's with allowances for enjoyability.

If you don't mind what do you weigh now and how many calories do you need just to maintain?

I currently weigh about 215 lbs. (98 kg) at 6'0" (183cm) and ~8% bodyfat or so. At this point in time, that IS a maintenance diet. But I have a pretty hefty physical schedule. When I'm on my game, I run 2 miles and do some solo MA training every morning (that's the part that is the most likely to get neglected). I weight train heavy 4 days a week (that never gets neglected, I love weight training infinitely more than conditioning). Judo training for 2 hours; 3 days a week when I can, but at least Saturdays at worst. And baseball on Sundays.

And lately, I think I'm actually beginning to lose weight even though the diet hasn't changed. Time to add another step.

If I wasn't so deadset on getting all my calories from solid food, I would definitely include some protein shakes and the like. Eat big enough meals and it can get rather uncomfortable. Turns out the stomach only has a finite volume.

To MAYBE lose a pound a week, I have to cut down to a moderate breakfast which is an egg, a slice of toast, and a couple slices of bacon, and then 4 ounces of meat every 4 hours. That's with class 4 times a week and training solo the other two days.
