Earlier this week, I was introduced to a video that has gone "viral" on the intertubes. This three and a half minute travesty is the work of Rebecca Black, a 14 year old with aspirations of pop stardom. It has been pretty much been universally panned by music lovers, but non-the-less it has entered the billboards and sold close to 40'000 singles. More success than it deserves of course. I couldn't even stand to sit through the original in its entirety - it is seriously a terrible, terrible song.

If you don't believe me, watch it. At least 30 seconds should give you an idea.

However, something positive has grown from this, like a flower from horse manure. A cover of the song was swiftly added to YouTube, accompanied by the original video.

It starts off much the same - but gets so much better.

Just thought I had to share this little triumph.

And I must disagree, this is the superior cover.

It's actually an aesthetic thing with me... yeah, that's it.

when I was first exposed to Rebecca Black's "Friday", I walked, no, ran to the bookshelf and tore through the bible to Revelation, looking for a possible correlation to a sign of the Apocalypse.
After seeing the long-term (a few days?) response, however.... let's just say my faith in humanity is secure.
