View Full Version : Combatives Gym in MONTREAL?

12/20/2010 2:22am,
I'm looking for any recommendations on boxing, judo or bjj gyms/schools in Montreal.

I've done some time in all three during undergrad, but moved around a lot for work placements so could never solidly focus on one for more than 4 months. Now that I'm in Montreal for the next 3 and a half years I want to find a place and get training regularly.

Quality of facilities isn't important, I'm looking for a place to train hard with plenty of aliveness. I wasted time at a karate mcdojo when I was younger, and so the top priority is finding a gym as down to earth as possible. Appreciate any recommendations gents.

Tri Star Gym (http://www.tristargym.com/)
The Canadian National Judo Training Center (http://www.shidokanjc.ca/)
Club Kozak (http://www.clubkozak.com/)

I can't vouch for any of these schools, though the head of US Sambo speaks highly of Club Kozak's owner. I bookmarked them when I was researching a move to Canada.

(I trained in the above 2, and can vouch for 'em)

I can't believe I forgot them! They're affiliated with the BJJ school in town that I've been wanting to attend for years.

Perhaps this thread should be in Newbietown. What part(s) of the city are most convenient for you? Try searching "Montreal" as these questions have been answered before. There are some bullies here (KO'd n DOA) from Montreal who would be able to answer questions. Feel free to post again after visiting some of these schools and let us know how it went. Good luck and enjoy
