This is the first in a series of David vs. Goliath matches I will be posting on Bullshido.

Jay R. Palmer is the David. He's arguably the first lightweight star in MMA, possessing tremendous strength and athleticism. Despite his experience in Aikido and Taekwondo, he would use raw brawling and ground-and-pound to become a dominant champion in these early Superbrawl events. When he finally encountered an experienced and prepared opponent in Muay Thai fighter Danny Bennett, however, he ended up getting knocked out and was never the same. He just couldn't keep up with the new breed of skilled and well-rounded fighters.

Robert Kaialau was the Goliath. He was a bouncer for a club in Waikiki. Year later, he would be implicated in a racketeering operation and would be charged with the murder of a California man.
