This is something i did for my speech class about a year ago. It covers a lot of the basic stuff they teach you in most martial arts schools plus a little extra and some information and such. Tell me what you think :)
I actually got an A (95%) on this project and it was one of the most memorable in the class when we discussed it at the end of the course. It went over very well actually. And yes i agree 5 minutes is an unfortunately short ammount of time to cover the broad topic of how to defend one's self, the original outline turned out to be about 12-15 minutes long so i had to rewrite it. However, through out the semester numerous people came up to me and told me about how my speech actually helped them to come out to be safe in situations that were scary or dangerous. So over all i think the speech worked out well for the purpose i intended
what kind of mark did you get for this out of interest?
Because no offense but that was a snoozefest- the info was sketchy at best, your subject was way too broad to cover in 5 minutes, and didnt really seem to go anywhere. lacked focus.
generally, martial arts is one to stay away from when it comes to this sort of thing, unless you are looking at it from a sports perspective (and even then its a bit shady, i ended up doing the history of rugby for my sportsci presentation. A beotches.)

Did he just get mugged by Hurley from Lost?
he is a bit of a bear and a really nice guy, great actor actually. But i'm a bit tougher than i look ;)
I'll bet $10 that that big guy could take you on.
More volume next time.
Oh yeah, stay in school.
