Youngest Black Belt Ben looks to future and Olympic gold

Ben Cowan, eight, became the youngest person in the country to be awarded a black belt in the ancient martial art of tae kwon do. The Prestonpans Primary School pupil also picked up two gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the Scottish championships. ‘Courier’PhotoNo.8320.



An eight-year-old Prestonpans boy has become the youngest person in Scotland to be awarded a black belt in the ancient martial art of tae kwon do. And, not to be outdone, a 10-year-old girl from the town also secured three gold medals at the Scottish Tae Kwon Do Championships in Coatbridge recently.

Ben Cowan, and Coralee Davis, both attend the classes run by instructor David Clark at Prestonpans and Musselburgh Community Centres.

why does it matter if he lost teeth? at his age his teeth will renew itself...On the other hand, i don't think we can say the same about his form...From that picture, it appears That kinda thing would need something analogous to reformatting the HD.

And for god's sake....I wish people here'd quit bashing kids who earn Dan ranks. For christ sake, they're only kids. They're not fighters of high caliber like people here are (or some claim to be), nor are they expected to be.

A Dan rank signifies more than just being a good fighter. Especially where TKD, and most TMAs for that matter, are concerned.
