Anthony A -
so how long do you think it takes to be proficient in an armbar ?

Fingermoon,

You got me. I sure as Hell thought I was proficient with the arm bar. Was tapping people left and right during group class.

I try it on Rener, and next thing I know, he's about to mount.

My argument isn't proficiency in the armbar. It is learning it within one month, and using it in a high stress situation as a reaction.

I believe there is a grain of truth to this story, but like the situation of Osiris with Jacare, has been overblown by yet another rabid BJJ nutrider. Remember... She got her Blue belt too for doing it.

Still waiting for proof.

O,

To put myself in that girl's shoes. To be in all probablity smaller, and weaker than my attacker, I can't do it. I can't even imagine it.

I'm 6 foot 260+lbs. I pull an armbar and get it on someone, I will break their arm. Right now. I almost did it to my buddy last month when we were rolling and he resisted. It's a favorite sub, for alot of people.

Ask me if I could do it within my first month, being taught and practiced 3 times in group class. Which my first month, only went once a week. I could go on with more variables. With what I knew and trained in my first month, the armbar would not have been my response in a high adrenal stress situation, such as rape is or any violent physical attack.

I agree with you.

Thus, I ask for the proof. Which has not been forthcoming.

Anthony, you're totally right to ask for proof.

All our opinions are different as to how likely this was to happen, personally I think it's believable, that's just me though.

I didn't like the blue belt part.
