A 17-year-old McCandless girl was accidentally shot by her boyfriend Sunday while the two were engaged in "bedroom activities," police said.

Timothy Madden, 23, of Ross, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and corruption of a minor.

"They were engaged in some bizarre activities in his bedroom," Barrett said. "The gun, we believe, accidentally discharged."

The girl, who, as a juvenile, was not identified by police, was wounded in the groin with a .45-caliber handgun and was taken to an undisclosed hospital.

No, the main reason why I was shocked to see it on here is because I've known the guy for over a decade, graduated high school with him, and still know his family pretty well. His mother and my mother are in the same nurse's union, and his sister is one of the fitness trainers at the gym I go to. I didn't realize it got to be such a big issue until I saw it all on TV and all over the papers too :P

I think he was on probation too, so having that firearm is gonna really hurt him too :P

What I don't understand, of course, is why he couldn't clear the damn chamber.

Why are there all these incidents we hear about where there is an accident because no one cleared the chamber? How hard is it to rack the slide back, shake the weapon upside down, and visually inspect the chamber, all while keeping the weapon pointed in a safe direction?

Why these accidents even happen is beyond me.

The corruption of a minor thing is weird too. The age of consent in Peensylvania is 16 both for sex and (before the voluntary sodomy law was repealed entirely) for "deviant sexual intercourse.."

In fact the age of consent goes down to 13 in Pennsylvania if the older person is no more than four years older.... Its one of the few states in the union where it's legal for a 17 year old to fuck a 13 year old in the ass.
