Hey Bullshido-ers
New here. Looking for others who want to play.
I am in the GTA (Toronto Canada).
We have a group of guys who regularly train with each other.
Everything from trad stuff to more progressive type martial arts work.
No newbs please, we are not looking to foster newbs, we are looking to exchange with already competent people.
No assholes either. If you got a chip on your shoulder. you can keep it.
If you want to exchange in a cool environment with other like minded ma-ists, contact me through this site.
Here's how it goes, we meet up for a pop or a coffee, we chit chat, we find out what each is about and we take it from there.
If you're interested, like I said, let's hook up.
Looking forward to exchanging.

shouldn't you have searched the "throwdown" section of the site?
No newbs please, we are not looking to foster newbs, we are looking to exchange with already competent people.
with that attitude why would anyone better than you want to coddle you through their stuff?

OMG The thread title is like a rap. I'm down with this group for sure.
We have a group of guys who regularly train with each other.
What does that mean exactly? What do you do?
Do you all train at the current? Where do you meet?

a) if someone is better than me demonstrabley, I will sit down, shut the fuck up and watch and learn.
b) no assholes means no assholes period, if you are coming into our homes to train with us you gotta be courteous, if you can't be courteous in another mans home, then you aren't welcome, that's all that means.
c) what we train is drawn from each of our knowledge pool. we have guys who are BJJ/MT fighters, We have Kempo guys, we have Hung Kuen Guys, we have boxers, we have catch wrestlers and so on. So there is a good pot of stuff to work from each week.
d) A pre-assess is absolutely necessary, sorry no exceptions.
e) when I say newbs, I mean newbs. I mean people who can't stand up properly, have no structure and can't guard their head. Everyone has to eat one or two shots now and then, that's how it goes, but if you are someone who is constantly haveing to eatit, then go back and get your basics, it's real simple.
f) we train hard and we train with purpose, if ya wanna flap gums, we can do that here.
If I brushed you the wrong way,too bad. Anyone who is serious about training will not take any offense at what I am asking, there is no difference In this and how we've always done it.
Thanks for chiming in though.
pizzd off, drop me a pm and i will give you particulars, same for anyone else.

It's funny the one who is so adamant about no assholes is acting the most like one. That's what ya call irony.

Look guys, I said my thing, if you're not into it that's cool, don't contact me, if you are into it and you have something to share, we are more than happy to welcome you in.
I don't think I'm being an asshole, I am being straight forward and to the point. I am inviting people into my home. You can bet your ass I am not gonna have someone in my home that I cannot have there.
anyway, I said my thing, If you're inm contact me and lets arrange a time and place to meet.
thanks for your comments

You must be quite the charmer with the ladies.
You: "Hey, we're going out tomorrow, so don't give me any shit!"
Her: "What? Do I know you?"
Y: "Look this is real simple, don't be a dumb asshole. I'm just ordering you to date me. WHAT THE FUCK!"
H: (dialing police) "No problem. That sounds like fun. Can you wait here for two to three minutes?"
Y: "Listen, if you can't even agree to a simple request from a stranger then fuck you!!!"
Also, you you think people read your posts and said to themselves "Say, that vague, unknown, aggressive, menancing guy with a short fuse ... I'd love to show up unaccompanied at a strange location, like a private home, where his friends are and submit to violent training. This a really good idea, that won't end bad at all."
Dammit, beat to it
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to afronaut again.

man, I don't know how you guys are reading that stuff into my post, but ok. I can't help how you feel.
I did say we meet for a coffee or a pop. Not in my house. In a public place. yeesh!
You know, Everyone we train with, this is how we met. we meet up, we chat, we move to the next stage.
Nothing violent or menacing about it. Don't be pessimists guys.
I am only guessing, but it's pretty easy to see who's not coming so far. lol. man, don't be paranoid. And there is nothing wrong with level setting, it weeds out unecessary stuff so we don't have to bother with it.
Is it any different when Bullshido hosts a showdown? Or is that violent and aggressive too and worry you guys? I'm not getting your drift here. We are just trying to grow our group to cultivate martial arts practice, that's all.
wow!
oh, and for the record afronaut, I'm married so I musta done something right.

DavidJ: Perhaps you and your friends wouldn't mind coming out to the next TO throwdown. Your ninja-lika way of soliciting people to train with you might (has) rub some people the wrong way. I'm not calling you out to a smackdown or anything, I'm just saying that you might have more success in peaking people interest by introducing you and your MA crew in person to the rest of the TO group . Also, it will give you a chance to screen out the noobs and asswipes and, conversely, give any of us a chance to see if training with you guys is even worth it. Afronaut's comment about meeting up with a stranger is well taken. If we can put a name/face/personality to your menacing internet persona, this whole recruitment drive might pan out more succesfully for you.

I'm down with that. Where and when? What do I bring and what can I expect to be doing at a throwdown?
I think some of you might already know me, but hey, no matter.
I think afronaut misread my post. Apparently he thought I was coaxing people into a lair to be beaten on for some reason. I really don't understand how this was perceived.
anyway, Let me know where and when the throwdown happens and I'll ask the guys who wants to come to it. I'll come barring total schedule conflicts.
Btw I am Kung Lek at KFM and CK an dthe mandarin version of same at EF.
I've met up and trained with guys from CK as far away as Montreal and in London, Ontario. We've held CK meets on several occasions now and covered wide ranges of materials.
It's all good and like I said, we're just looking to expand the circle. I don't intend to come across as a dick, and I can't help being who I am. Not gonna apologize for it. so, there ya go.

DavidJ: Just keep your eyes open on this site. They usually announce times/dates for TO throwdowns in advance. Expect to do anything from sparring (strikes, ground, whatever) to drilling and anything in between. It's a good group and I'm sure you'll have no problem expanding the circle.
