Well, I decided to leave my Xing Yi school (not because Xing Yi isn't awesome. If you think that IMAs suck, then you haven't seen anyone who is any good). So I figured that I'd give Judo a try. I just had my first lesson. Holy shit was it awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed getting thrown and grappled. I will be with this martial art for a long time.

Just thought I'd share my glee with everyone. Goodbye.

Looks like Chicago Throwdown peeps are embracing the MMA trend. Every throwdown has everyone working on grappling, in addition to whatever standup is done.

(btw we need a new place , guys)

Praise the gods, we have another Judo brother!

I gets even better, at first you will get thrown and taped out a lot but soon you will be throwing and taping the new guys…

I remember back in the day when it was only me and Asia representing Judo and everyone was saying it sucked.
Carry on.

Judo...good! I only spent six months doing randori when I was younger, so it's not like I'm a judoka, but that stuff is GREAT, and fun as hell to boot! Yeah, getting thrown is fun (well, on the mat), and learning how to fall has saved my ass from grievous harm a couple of times.

Keep your chin tucked and try not to tense up on impact.

It's alright, just point to where the bad man touched you.
