Hello, I'm a wing chun practitioner from Toronto.
First off I'd like to express my disgust in the politics associated with my style.
I was recently scanning through some of your articles, and I ended up reading the letter written by Ray Raamsdonk.
He has a new site up, very comprehensive, but a lot of his material is stolen from the original authors without permission.

Anyways, in the user comment's following that article I noticed something about a challenge between Emin and one of the Gracies if I was not mistaken. Can anyone fill me in on what happened there?

i don't know the answear to your question but i have a question for you, what kind of wushu did you do?

I said Wing Chun.
I've also done a year of wushu though.
My Wing Chun lineage is through Dr.Khoe, who is from Wang Kiu.
I did contemporary wushu, the "flower fist".

Some people call contemporary wushu the "Flower Fist" because it's a performance art.

Well, from what i remember, basically emin challenged the gracies, there was a whole exchange of letters where neither seemed to be able to agree, and eventually it seemed like emin bailed out... That's just my opinion tho. Personally i would have preferred emin getting in the ring and being beaten to not fighting at all... at least that way he would have shown he had the balls to get in the ring.

The Gracies bailed out.
Emin would kill Royce.

I dub this thread. . . FLAME BAIT!
Nice attempt at trolling, though. I give it a 7.5. A little obvious, but pretty good overall.
"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?"

I actually think Boztepe might do pretty well in MMA, but the guy talks real big, gets his name in the press, and has never backed it up. I've heard both sides of the Gracie story, I remember reading one interview with him where he said that his master or whoever wanted him to challenge them to get some publicity or something. Bottom line, the Gracies have actually competed for the world to see, he has not.
He also was talking smack about Remco Pardoel, a pretty classy well-respected Dutch fighter. Remco said he had a broken leg but some of his buddies confronted Boztepe and he pussed out.
Here's the link:

Bottom line, Boztepe needs to put up or shut up, but he has seemed to tone down his rhetoric somewhat.

I got something from this site that made me do a double-take and spit out my coke:
"With 15 years of Hung style and Preying Mantis style from Hong Kong and another 5 years of Wing Chun, I still couldn't handle the kicks of TaeKwonDo" - Jason Siu
What... the... hell? With 15 years of humping a wall you could handle TaeKwonDo, much less 15 years of Hung Gar and 5 in Wing Chun! How the hell did this happen-- is this Jason Siu four feet tall and did he fight Semmy Schilt clad in a dobok wearing a black belt? That's about the only possible permutation I can think that allows this incredible quote to be possible.

Clap your hands everybody,
if you got what it takes

and I want you to know
that these are the breaks!

The Emin's bailed out.
Royce would hurt Emin. :P

Damn, I didn't know that: Pardoel is a pretty decent guy so it seems, he didn't even think he'd get that far in the UFC (he competed under JJJ, but is a Judoka, and a good one at that - he only really used Judo too IMO, but with a little improvisation.) That's pretty terrible.
"With 15 years of Hung style and Preying Mantis style from Hong Kong and another 5 years of Wing Chun, I still couldn't handle the kicks of TaeKwonDo" - Jason Siu Wonderful lol.

lol! :)
I actually think Boztepe might do pretty well in MMA I would love to see him fight in it - and soon.
"Chum Sut Total Fighting - www.chumsut.com " - the system looks good, decent site too. Making a distinction between fighting in the ring and in the streets is ridiculous though, because it's so obvious.
