As a recently recovoring sycophant of a MCSensei, I was just curious about the severity of injuries some of you might have recieved. I spent 3.5 years with an instructor that kept telling me what he taught was to deadly for the street. He moved and I found myself with new instructors and a realization that all I knew was techniques and nothing about application. Anyway, I'm over that now, but nursing a hairling fracture in my ulna from a sparing session with my sensei. I'm a noobie to this sight, so fire away. :icon_stud

Mmmm besides the usual bumps and bruises I suffered a broken clavicle two months ago and just received clearance to begin light training again. I own my business and it doesn't require anything crazy so it didn't effect my work. I have a doctor friend so all xrays and medical crap was free. The only thing I couldn't do is lift weight above my head. I could carry around kegs no problem but if I even tried to life 2 pounds above shoulder level it hurt like a M'fer.

I know the feeling, gringo. I work in a analytical lab, and though it hasn't affected work to much, workouts have been centered around my injury.

I pulled my groin once because I didn't strecth well enough. I also sprained my wrists doing a double jump front kick and I landed on my wrists. That hurt pretty bad but that happens when your a green belt and try to pull of some cool moves.

My worst was a knee injury from sparring. Couldn't walk at more than a slow shamble for 3 months (which was rather apt considering the zombie-mode inducing painkillers they put me on), had physio for 4 months, was finally able to do a slow jog after 6 months. 10 months after getting hurt I went back to training.
Fun times.

The most PAINFUL was getting my nose broken. The one that's hindered me the most is breaking my hand (it's broken right now).
I dislocated my foot ( 180 degrees rotation ).
Guy tried to throw me with Tai Otoshi, well he did , but my foot stood were it was. I t was during a huge squad training session in Germany with 60 people on the mat doing randori. And me lying in the middle, being concerned that people would fall over me.
I didn't feel any pain, because of the adrenaline. Did hurt aftre the operation....

I damn near broke my hand trying to break a board for a TKD belt test. Those things don't NEED to punch back, they fucking hurt. :(

Worst is probably the broken in half foot - made getting around really hard. Didn't hurt at all the whole time, though. They had me on vicadin the first couple of days, which is, I assume, when it might have hurt. Who knows, I was in Vicadin-land. Good stuff. :icon_mrgr
The one that hurt the most was definitely the torn rotator cuff. Hurt like shit, and took forever and a day to heal - and I could feel is whenever I did the slightest thing. The weird part was that it kept me up at night, aching. I have no idea why, but it sucked.

My knee blew up like a balloon after kneeing an Heavy Bag in MT. It filled with air or some sort of fluid.
I got some severe bruising on my arms from doing conditioning (I think it's called 'Gwa-Sao') with another guy in KF. A couple of moths later that guy got his arm broke from doing the same thing.

Whiplash and torn trapezius muscle, also some torn scalene neck muscles to boot. All this happiness from a botched fireman's takedown. 1 year and I still have stiffness and limited mobility on my left side. Please, please take care of your neck and watch those neck cranks.

One of my first BJJ sessions I got caught in what I now know was the beginning of an omoplata, although I had no idea what it was back then so I just contiued doing whatever I thought I was doing and *snap*. I could barely move my arm for a couple of days and it still hurts sometimes.
