Last night watched this rubbish program on UK's Channel 4 that suggests that there is a goat lab in Fort Bragg where they try and stop goats hearts with the power of the mind:

"In 1979 a secret unit was established by the most gifted minds within the US Army. Defying all known accepted military practice - and indeed, the laws of physics - they believed that a soldier could adopt the cloak of invisibility, pass cleanly through walls and, perhaps most chillingly, kill goats just by staring at them. Entrusted with defending America from all known adversaries, they were the First Earth Battalion. And they really weren't joking. What's more, they're back and fighting the War on Terror. 'The men who stare at goats' reveals extraordinary - and very nutty - national secrets at the core of George W Bush's War on Terror."

It had some interesting stuff and was wondering if anyone had any info on the following:

1st Earth Battalion

http://ejmas.com/jnc/jncart_channon_0200.htm

Im actually mostly interested in the 1st earth battalion as it does exist - anyone read it?

The rest was just standard Bullshido:

There was a fat bloke using the 'predator' 'that is used by the military' (like a cheap plastic kobutan - but quite cool...) - do the military really use the predator? The guy doing some martial demos was Pete Brusso (looked fairly competent).

Then the had Guy Savelli - killed hamsters with 'intention'... he supposedly trained '3rd Battalion 7th Special Forces Group' - Savelli was based in Ohio and had 'Savellis dance and Kung fu' - he was quite sad.

They also talked about Michael Echaris (Echarris?) who died from stopping the hearts of too many goats...

I think this is worth a bullshido investigation.

"What powers you ask?
I dunno.. how about the power of flight,
that do anything for ya?
It's levitation, Holmes.
How about the power to kill a yak, from 200 yards away,
With MIND bullets?!?
That's telekenisis Kyle"

I saw that program. I was kind of funny seeing the guy demo the predator while soliders were practising bjj in the background. It was a bit rubbish when he demoed "thought projection" The guy was scared shitless, I could have done that. It was funny hearing about what really happened to michael echanis. Supposedly died in a chopper crash in Nicaragua, really (?) died letting someone drive a jeep over him and the driver went a bit too fast :)

I can't believe there really is a 'Goat Lab' or the 1st Earth Battalion.

Imagine if you could alter heart rates with a look...
You'd make millions, putting the Viagra makers out of business, and killing their hamsters and goats, so they won't get any again!

Back on the 60s the CIA looked into hypnosis as a means of making people kill people. It failed utterly.

Guy Savelli makes these claims on his Huc Chung Kun Tao website. http://www.worldkungfu.com/
I'm ashamed that he even calls it Kun Tao. He's a running joke in our class.

It's a shame that he's hiding behind the wall o' bullshido because he was considered to be one of DeThour's best, once upon a time.

Our question is "What is he doing to these goats once he knocks them unconscious? " There's only so many things you can do with an unconscious goat and not many of them are good.

I saw this on Fark yesterday http://www.thememoryhole.org/mil/nl-weapons_terms/ A report on non-lethal weapons the military has studied. some freaky things like 'acoustic bullets'.

Actually the *real* "Goat Lab" is very cool (I
thought it was what this thread was about).
The military field medics (not the FMSS or 91-Bravo
types) who go through Recon Medic, SPECWAR IDC
and some other units go something called
"the goat lab".

Take a full aid bag. Go in a shack. There is a
goat in there tied up. One of the instructors
comes in with a 9mm and shoots the goat.

Keep the goat alive. If the goat dies before
the lab is over or you leave the shack.. you fail.

Periodically (like over the next 36 hours) the instructor
comes back in and shoots the goat again.

Fun stuff, I definitely intend to try this someday
as a personal training exercise. Goat may be expensive
though. I wonder if you'd have to shave the goat's
fur to get a good stick for the IV? Hmmmm.....

I figured how to BREAK a goat's heart, but I got my broken in the process too, and he got to keep the furniture and our Wedgewood china.

Shit, beautiful women do this all the time. Maybe we should send porn stars and Playboy bunnies to fight the terrorists.

When I have my own tropical island to rule, that's gonna be MY preferred method of defense! I'll be the benevolent dictator with the Beautiful Babe Division guarding my palace.

I saw this on Fark yesterday http://www.thememoryhole.org/mil/nl-weapons_terms/ A report on non-lethal weapons the military has studied. some freaky things like 'acoustic bullets'.

A shell fired from one of the large guns on a battleship travels at such velocity that it creates enormous shockwaves. If fired low over the heads of oncoming troops, such a shell would potentially kill many men under the path of its trajectory. Since this application is simply not practical, it's never been tried.

About 10 years ago, a laser rifle was developed for sniping. Rather than killing, it was designed to blind targets by destroying their retinas with a successful face shot. Since the beam was effectively invisible to the human eye and completely silent, there was no way to know until the target lost their vision. The range was decent and accuracy wasn't affected by wind conditions. This rifle never went past the testing stage as it violated the Geneva convention so completely. I don't know if they used it blind any goats, but they might have.

There was a big article on this in the guardian (a more upmarket Uk paper) last weekend and they interviewed the guy who used to run it... seems abit of a fruitcake really

incidently, that place used to be called 'dog lab' according to the artcile, but then they realised not even rock hard soldiers could calously shoot dogs with big eyes... so instead they use goats because apparently it is next to impossible to form emotional attachmenst to them (not in that sense...)
