seeing as though i actually practice the sport of bjj and dont know this ....get your laughs out now......but, did rickson gracie "ever" actually lose a fight? mario yamasaki told me he had 500 wins and 0 losses.

His supposedly undefeated record consists of every mma/grappling match which includes tournament, in-school sparring, etc. according to Helio Gracie.

Speed walking is an olympic event. Why isn't this? Brazilians could finally get some gold.

Um...you do know Rickson is considered as full of crap on this point as anyone in the history of the universe, right? He has his nut-riders that will claim otherwise...but really, NEVER defeated in SPARRING!? WTF is that?

Maybe he was really dedicated doing his forms and the skills transfered over?

Sherdog's record is more accurate.

He lost a Sambo match by Ippon too, I believe.

Yeah I always heard he lost once in a Sambo tourney.

I would guess most of them came from BJJ tournies, which I can believe. It is a tad misleading calling it a "Fight" Record though.

As far as the Sambo tournament is concerned: didn't Rickson claim he only lost because he didn't know the rules? Something about how long his shoulders were allowed to touch the mat for? Therefore it wasn't a 'real' loss.

Yer, I think it was just an Ippon.

It's a dumb rule, but he shouldn't have agreed to it so it's certainly a loss.
