Liu He Ba Fa is older than taiji, xingyi, and bagua, yet combines elements from all three into an internal system.
Now, we've all heard stories of masters of the latter three. Fabulous stories.
Taiji: Any of the early Yang Family could kick ass.
Xingyi: Sun Lu Tang could kick your ass six ways to Sunday.
Bagua: Cheng Tin Hua was great.
All these masters supposedly had incredible internal power.
I've been doing some research into liu he ba fa (just touching the surface so far) and right now, there is no one that stands out from LHBF who had the kind of incredible internal power that these guys have. Heck, I haven't even heard any stories of great LHBF fighters.
My LHBF is very martial and full of applications, so there must have been some good fighters in the system.
Can anyone share some stories of LHBF guys pushing people back 30 feet, or at least kicking 5 guys assess as once?

It's a hybrid of all three internal styles. Problem is, I've never heard of a good figher coming from that style.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?
There's a common tendency to wildly exaggerate the exploits of old martial arts masters. Don't expect to see any superhuman feats, but on the other hand don't let that keep you from practicing if that style feels right for you.

Water boxing like sun tai chi and yi quan is a style that mixes and integrates elements of all three of the popular neija styles of tai chi, xing yi, and bagua.

Here's an interesting and good story I just dug up about Choi, Wai Lun from when he'd first opened a school in Chicago's Chinatown in the 70's:
"Choi sifu had a grand opening, and demonstration to announce that he was opening for business. Afterwards he invited the thirty, or so men inside to answer questions, and, perhaps, sign some of them up for lessons. What he got was a challenge by the entire group of men. Choi sifu went through the first five one at a time, and then was asked what he would do against a group attack of five. Choi sifu accepted, and put the next group down, and was then asked what he would do against ten. Choi sifu put them down also. Then what was asked was what he would do against the entire group. Choi sifu responded by closing the door, and telling the man who asked to call an ambulance because he would have to do some serious damage rather than play with them. Choi sifu signed twenty nine out of the thirty men on the spot."
By internal style do you mean it involves a penis in your internal organs, or do you mean it's completely useless in a fight? Oh wait, nevermind, they both apply.
