I think it's choreographed. The attacks miss by a foot, and the guy is standing right there. Then when the Shaolin and TKD loose it and go all super rage type crap, they dodge and block each attack.

Yea, I bet I could beat that TKD practitioner just with Boxing, His guard is down which leads him open to all kinds of attacks, But the Shaolin Kung Fu might knock me with it's butterfly twist kick. :(
